MOKA Moodnote is designed as a local-only journaling app. At the time of this policy, the App does not require account registration, does not connect to our backend servers for app functionality, and does not use advertising, analytics, or third-party social login SDKs.
This Privacy Policy explains how MOKA Moodnote ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of MOKA Moodnote, including its features for writing notes, recording moods, attaching local media, and managing local app data.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, or services that are not operated as part of the App itself.
2. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little information as possible.
2.1 Information you create in the App
The App may store the content you create directly on your device, such as:
- journal entries and notes
- mood records and tags
- dates, reminders, preferences, and settings
- images you choose to attach
- audio recordings you choose to create or attach
- optional location labels you choose to add to an entry
This information is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers by the App's current Google Play version.
2.2 Permissions-based data
The App may request access to certain device features only when you choose to use related functions:
- Camera: to take a photo and attach it to your content
- Photos / Media Library: to select images from your device
- Microphone: to record audio content
- Location: to add a location label to an entry
These permissions are used only to provide the feature you actively request. The related data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
2.3 Information we do not collect
At the time of this policy, we do not collect:
- account registration information
- cloud-synced personal data through our own servers
- advertising identifiers
- analytics events
- usage tracking data for profiling or marketing
- payment information
3. How We Use Information
Because the App is designed to work locally on your device, the information created in the App is used only to:
- provide journaling and mood tracking features
- save your content and preferences on your device
- let you attach photos, audio, or location labels when you choose to do so
- allow you to manage, edit, or delete your local data
We do not use your data for advertising, user profiling, behavioral tracking, or cross-app tracking.
4. Data Storage
Your content and related app data are stored locally on your device.
We do not operate a cloud backup or online account system for the App at this time. If you uninstall the App, clear the App's storage, or use an in-app delete/reset function, your local data may be permanently removed.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
At the time of this policy, the App does not use third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social login SDKs, or payment SDKs in the Google Play version described here.
6. Data Retention
Because your data is stored locally on your device, it remains there until:
- you edit or delete it
- you clear the App's local storage
- you uninstall the App
- you use an in-app feature that removes local app data
We do not retain copies of your journal content on our servers.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You may:
- choose whether to grant or deny permissions
- stop using optional features that require permissions
- delete individual content inside the App
- remove all local app data by using in-app deletion/reset features or your device settings
If you deny a permission, some related features may not work, but the rest of the App may continue to function.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a backend service.
Because the App stores information locally on the user's own device, parents or guardians who believe a child is using the App should supervise local device use and permissions.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps in the App's design to help protect local data. However, no device, software environment, or storage system can be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own device, including screen lock, device access controls, and backup choices.
10. International Use
The App may be downloaded and used in different countries. Because the App currently works as a local-only application and does not provide a backend account system, most user content remains on the device where it is created.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice inside the App or through the page where this policy is published.
